Since 2013 our Mayhem Datil Pepper Farm has been nestled amongst 125 acres of pristine wilderness, family owned since 1889. Our spring fed lake, Mirror Lake, provides crystal clear spring water to our nearly 2,000 heirloom Datil Pepper plants.
The Mayhem Brothers, Scott and Troy, have laughed as best friends for over 40 years of shenanigans. Our love of the Datil began when Scott was a young kid, picking datil peppers in his Minorcan Mema’s backyard. The “Cousins” would gather at her house every year for a Minorcan Style Potluck, including her amazing Datil Pepper “Hot Stuff”, Perlow, and low country boil.
"Hot Stuff" stayed with the family until 2009 when Scott and his brother Hampton gave an updated version of the sauce to Troy. He loved it so much, he wanted more. For years we couldn’t find datil peppers to make Mayhem “Original”! You had to know a friend, of a friend, of a friend who had a datil pepper plant; you then begged or bartered for a couple of pounds.

Finally in 2012, Troy found 18 heirloom quality datil pepper plants, so began the journey of “The Mayhem Datil Pepper Farm”. In 2013 we added 72 more plants then in 2014 we expanded to 250 plants and the commercial birth of Mayhem Brothers, LLC. We have expanded to growing 1,615 Datil Pepper plants under 20,000 square feet of Shade Cloth.
Since 2019, we have successfully shipped fresh datil peppers all over the US to many happy Datil Pepper Lovers.
