Datil peppers are hard and finicky to grow therefore one of the rarest and most expensive chilis. Our datil peppers are heirloom and have not been genetically modified to become more drought resistant, insect resistant, or superficially productive. Datil peppers require far more hands on attention than habaneros or jalapeños which have been hybridized to make them super resistant to all of the dangers and still be as productive as possible with the least amount of effort and expense.
